On the beach for the Songkran festival - April 2004
The Beaches of Sihanoukville
Behind Angkor Wat on the path leading to Angkor Thom
Apsaras and bas reliefs around Angkor Wat
The big faces of Bayon in the centre of Angkor Thom
THe famous bas reliefs of the Bayon, depicting battle scenes, but even more insightful are scenes of everyday life - people fishing and cooking, cock fights, and a woman giving birth.
Baphuon and nearby pools
Slightly hidden interior wall of the Terrace of the Leper King
"Saun" ad "Maud" - two very charismatic young girls
Sunrise at Angkor Wat (along with 400 people)
Getting a ride further afield
Banteay Srei
Preah Khan
Ta Phrom
Musicians and monkeys hanging out opposite Phnom Bakeng
More scenes from Angkor Wat
Hundreds of people climb up Phnom Bakeng every evening for what is often just a mediocre sunset - but it's the designated "sunset place" so the mob follows. You won't see me going up there ;-)
Preah Khan - one of my favourites for its long hallways framed by broad squarish stone frames and covered by multi-coloured lichens. It is also usually quieter than the nearby Ta Phrom.
Gekkos at the restaurant of "Popular" Guesthouse
Sunset at Phnom Krom
