After nearly two and a half years it was recently time to go "home" for a visit.  We had a great time!  But first a flight to Bangkok, a few days by the pool, and then long flights to Seoul and Seattle with a 12-hour stopover thrown in.
We hopped an Air Asia flight to Bangkok...
...and soon we were on our way!  (LONG flight)
Mothers Day was on the first Sunday of our visit.
It is rare to have the family together like this - good times!
All together now - pets included
Love you Mom!
Showing Tee my city from the picture postcard viewpoint
Tee checking out my Bro's "Hog".  No rice rockets allowed!
Ferry leaving Seattle for the Olympic Peninsula
Tongue Point near Port Angeles.
What you see is $30 worth of firewood from the local supermarket - no joke.
Bad case of jetlag?
a King and His castle
Burning wood at 10 cents/minute
...and the first grand sunset
The first night with a campfire
The snowbanks are still well-overhead in May
Speaking of firsts - here's Tee's first encounter with snow - ever!
Tee realizes that after sliding on snow you do get a wet butt
Did we forget to set the parking brake?
Enough for today
Not imtimidated by the cold frothy surf.  This aint Thailand.
We found this Blue Grouse hooting and prancing around during mating season - and we heard at least 3 others nearby.
Something you find almost year-round at Hurricane Ridge.  Deer are very tame and will walk right up to you looking for food.
Giant surf logs at Rialto Beach
One of the local fauna we'd rather not bump into.
After a long day of swimming, the rock crawled its way back to safety
Looks like southern Thailand - but why's it so cold?
A vibrant green amemenemenmenonie
The locally-famous "Hole in the Wall" at one of the years' lowest tides
We found this sea lion happily frolicking in the surf
After another long beautiful walk, Tee is tired and someone has been disturbing the local rocks again.
We were the only people at the Mora campground.  Spooky at night, blissful in the morning.  People who live with forests like this every day might forget how special it is.
Giant spruce tree at the Hoh Rainforest
Giant tree from the recent past
environmentally-correct telephone
Bigfoot is alive and well in the PNW
The hardest job of the day
Good times on Kalaloch Beach
Tee is happy-tired again
Another fantastic sunset...
Tsunamis are on the risk-list here too
Heavy traffic at Ocean Shores
Thankfully there are still cheap little motels like this
Mom and Dad with Tee and the beach I grew up on - swam here every summer for ten years.
The playground at L.P. Brown Elementary School - (almost) exactly as it was in 1971 when I began 2nd grade here.
Downtown Olympia - another trip down memory lane...
Giant Rhoddies at our state's Capitol
Back home with Mom and Dad - We made dinner for once.
Time for a travel break and a few days at Taylor Base Camp.
